Blog2: A Unforgettable Week for Matsuri

This week we have had an unforgettable Matsuri which is a kind of traditional Japanese festival host by Shinto Shrine or temple. People always hold some unique ceremonies to pray for their life, faimly and future. I learnt that from my Japanese religion class that the essential motif of the matsuri is the renewal of life-power among the kami and human beings in a given life-space.

This was the Matsuri we attened this weekend which is called 根津神社例大祭 (the Matsuri of Nezu Shinto Shrine). Many local people and tourists came to this Matsuri to enjoy the festival.

Many traditional Japanese street foods were on sale.

This is my favorite one which is called Apple Candy.

We wore the Japanese traditional clothes for Matsuri and carried these things on the pictures with local people. Everyone felt very tired, but no one complain about it. Everyone was happy about this unique experience. In this event, I really felt the unity of mankind. Whatever gender we are, wherever we come from, no matter how old we are, all people participated in this events and tried their best to support each other.
